News 1 Dec 2010 Welcome to Clubkite's 2011 kite boarding website. Lots of great news for the new season.
Epic Kites - we are now dealers for Epic kites. Legendary rider Dimitri Maramenides is the man behind Epic Kites. Epic kites rocked from the very start. Now with the 2011 line up being even better, we had to get our hands on them. Dimitri the man himself here to introduce you to Epic kites..... Enjoy. Ocean Rodeo Razor - A new addition to the Ocean Rodeo kite line up. This kite turns even faster than the fastest kite I have ever flown. With constant grunt starting low down and rock solid stability, this kite is for hardcore wake style riders. Looking for maximum range and ease of use? Look elsewhere. Flysurfer Speed3-21m - It's not enough making the world's biggest kite last year, flysurfer had to add the Speed3 - 21m. The absolute low wind machine just got bigger and the possiblity of riding year round is entirely possible. Flysurfer Viron - For me the biggest news for this new season is the addition of the Flysurfer Virons to our Kite school. Clubkite is always looking to provide the best equipment for our students and the Virons are the most developed kite trainers ever designed. With the Virons, Clubkite has more trainer kites than most school have kites! Flydoor XL - Another new addition to our kite school are 2 new Flydoor XL. The Flydoor XL is going to extend the wind range in which we can teach effectively. Last year with the Speed 3-19m, students were doing their first rides in less than 12kts and many easily going more than 50m with a record of one student getting up and riding over 500m first time. With the Flydoor XL, we are in no doubt this record will easily be broken. New Kite School - In the works have been plans for a new kite school in Bali. If everything goes to plan, Clubkite will be in Bali in June 2011. watch this space. |

| Step 1 - Trainer kites
Trainer kites are fast & zippy. Develops your kiting instints and instills muscle memory. |

Step 2 - Flying full size kites We then move on to flying a full sized kite. The power of a full sized kite can be intimidating, but with the instructor close by and an assitant at hand there's nothing to worry about. |

Step 3 - Body dragging Bodydragging is important for getting you out of trouble. For instance if you lose your board, you will need to body drag back to your board to retrieve it or bodydrag back to the shore.

Is kiteboarding dangerous? Yes. Every year there are serious injuries and fatalities worldwide. Please get proper kite instruction for your own safety as well as other beach users. This kiter fractured his tibua and fibula. He has sinced recovered and has returrned to kiting. |

Rates
We charge SGD100 per hour for one on one instruction. Many Kite lesson packages usually group up to four students in a session with one instructor. Which means that for each hour on the water, each student actually only receieves 15min of instruction per hour in the water. Depending on wind conditions, we can get students up and riding in 4 to 6 hours.
We are able to get students up and riding in the fastest possible time because
1) Clubkite has more kites (12 and more on the way!) and kite sizes to suit all rider weights and wind conditions.
2) Clubkite uses an assitant to assist the instructor and student, this keeps wasted time to an absolute minimum.
3) We have more trainer kites ( 6 trainers) - normal foil trainers, water re-launching foils, mini SLE tube kites to give you a feel of flying
4) Bintan is one of the world's best place for learning kite boarding. We learn in a semi lagoon which is very shallow, less than 1.2m deep. No waves, no current, no sea urchins, just sand and seagrass. Few places can boast such perfect conditions!
Program
Lessons are conducted from January to March in Bintan, Indonesia.
Most people take lessons on Saturday and Sunday.
But we are available on any day, please email us early to book your lessons.
Take the 8am ferry from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal
Return on last ferry which arrives 10pm in Singapore.
